Jenny Roberts appointed exec director at Rifco
British Asian theatre company Rifco has appointed Jenny Roberts as its new executive director.
Roberts joins the Watford-based company as it embarks on a new phase of development and a new programme of work.
Currently a freelance arts consultant, Roberts was previously relationship manager at Arts Council England between 2007 and 2013, and has also worked as administrative director at the Oxfordshire Touring Theatre Company.
She said she was “hugely excited” to take on the role, which she begins next week.
Roberts will work alongside artistic director Pravesh Kumar, who said: “I am delighted to have Jenny Roberts join our Rifco team. She brings a wealth of experience, passion for the company and will be integral to our sustained growth as a leading British touring theatre company.”
Roberts replaces Bryan Savery as executive director, who moves to work with literary charity Free Word.
She added: “I’ve been a friend of the company for 10 years and an admirer of Pravesh, who has successfully carved out a unique place for the company in the sector and attracted a whole new audience to his rich, vibrant and accessible shows.”
