In the Heights is to close in January 2017 after a run of over a year.

Arun Blair-Mangat, Juliet Gough and Stephanie Rojas will join the cast for its final months.

The musical, which has music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, was previously booking until October but will now run at the King’s Cross Theatre until January 8.

It opened at the temporary theatre in October 2015, running alongside The Railway Children, which is also set to close on January 8.

The three new cast members will be joined by Damian Buhagiar, who rejoins the cast, while existing cast member Sarah Naudi will take over the role of Vanessa. The new cast will be in place from September 16.

The Broadway-originated musical won three Olivier awards this year, includes outstanding achievement in music, best choreographer – won by Drew McOnie – and best supporting actor for David Bedella.

The show, which has a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, is directed by Luke Sheppard and produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment, and Paul Taylor Mills.
