Bush Theatre teams up with Lloyd Webber Foundation to launch associate artists scheme

West London venue the Bush Theatre is launching a new associate artists scheme that has been supported in part by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation.

The theatre has issued a call for artists of theatre companies with a focus on new writing and new work to join the Associate Artists scheme, through which three successful applicants will be attached to the theatre’s new studio space. The studio opens in 2017 as part of the venue’s redevelopment [1].

Each associate will receive a £2,500 bursary as a contribution towards research and development expenses. The artists will also receive mentoring and have access to meeting spaces.

Applications are invited through the theatre’s website [2] and close on June 30.

The associates will be selected by a panel including artistic director Madani Younis and associate director Omar Elerian.

As well as support from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation, the scheme is backed by the Harold Hyam Wingate Foundation.
