Broadway performer Audra McDonald will make her West End debut later this year in the London run of Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill.

The musical, which won McDonald her sixth Tony award for the Broadway production in 2014, will run for a limited season at Wyndham’s Theatre from June 25.

The show is written by Lanie Robertson and tells the story of the life of singer Billie Holliday through the songs that made her famous.

It will be directed by Lonny Price and will have a press night on July 5, running until September 3.

Ahead of her appearance in the show, McDonald will perform in a concert at the Leicester Square Theatre on January 17.
