Applications for the second Kevin Spacey Foundation Artists of Choice Awards have opened, with winners standing to receive £10,000.

The initiative provides funding and mentoring for emerging artists working in theatre, dance, musical theatre and film. Applications are open to people in the UK, the US and Canada.

Four people from each country will be awarded £10,000 or $10,000 and an industry mentor.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview with an industry panel in May. Last year’s panel included English National Ballet artistic director Tamara Rojo and performer Cynthia Erivo.

Spacey said last year’s recipients, which included musical theatre writers Chris Bush and Matt Winkworth, “had benefited hugely” from the foundation’s support.

Applications close on March 4 and awards will be made in June.
