Andrew Panton named new artistic director of Dundee Rep
Dundee Rep has appointed Andrew Panton as its new artistic director.
He replaces Jemima Levick, who left to join Stellar Quines Theatre Company in Edinburgh earlier this year.
Panton, who has directed for the theatre previously, is currently artistic director of musical theatre at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. He is also Susan Boyle’s creative director.
In his new role, he will continue in his post with the RCS, and his first season at Dundee Rep will be in the autumn next year.
Dundee Rep chief executive Nick Parr said that securing a director of Panton’s “international standing is a huge coup for the rep”.
Panton said he was looking forward to ensuring the theatre continues to be “at the heart of this dynamic and fast-changing city”.
Panton joins the venue from next spring, but will work with it to plan the next season and appoint an associate director from October this year.
