Alison Steadman withdraws from UK premiere of Rabbit Hole
Alison Steadman has pulled out of upcoming play Rabbit Hole at the Hampstead Theatre, citing personal reasons.
The actor was announced as part of the original cast alongside Claire Skinner and Tom Goodman-Hill, but will now be replaced by Penny Downie.
Hampstead Theatre artistic director Edward Hall, who is directing the play’s UK premiere, said he was “delighted” to welcome Downie to the venue.
He added: “The company is looking forward to be working with her and we hope to welcome Alison back to the venue in the future.”
Rabbit Hole runs at the Hampstead Theatre from January 29 to March 5, with a press night on February 4.
