The Yard Theatre in east London has announced its autumn season, which includes two new works by female playwrights.

EV Crowe’s Brenda, which premieres at HighTide Festival, will run at the Yard from September 22 to October 17, with press night on September 25.

Directed by Caitlin McLeod and designed by James Turner, Brenda will feature Alison O’Donnell and Jack Tarlton.

It is produced by HighTide Festival Theatre and Daniel Brodie Productions in association with the Yard.

The season also includes a new play by Pamela Carter called Lines.

The play, about soldiers returning home in peacetime, is the Yard’s third in-house production, following The Mikvah Project and Beyond Caring.

The show runs from October 27 to November 21 and will be directed by the Yard’s artistic director Jay Miller.

A press night for the show will be held on October 30.
