Secret Theatre announce last play and finale weekend
Lyric Hammersmith’s Secret Theatre company is to perform all six of its previous productions at the venue later this year, as well as one final new play.
The company’s seventh show, the Joel Horwood-penned A Stab in the Dark, will preview at the London theatre from February 12 to 24, ahead of a ‘grand finale’ weekend on February 28 and March 1 which will feature performances of all seven plays.
The other six productions to be performed are Glitterland, Show 6, A Streetcar Named Desire, A Series of Increasingly Impossible Acts, Chamber Piece and Woyzeck.
Lyric Hammersmith artistic director Sean Holmes said: “Secret Theatre is an attempt to challenge every aspect of how we make work at the Lyric, building new structures that could lead to new types of theatre.”
He continued: “It is only now at the end of an extraordinary two years that I’ve discovered the central purpose of Secret Theatre: to show the true potential of actors both individually and collectively can be released by the creation of a committed ensemble.”
The finale weekend will also feature a variety of events, discussions and masterclasses centred around the seven performances.
