Rosalie Craig and Louise Brealey cast in upcoming National Theatre shows
Rosalie Craig, Louise Brealey and Charles Edwards have all been cast in upcoming productions at the National Theatre.
Craig is to play Rosalind in the Polly Findlay-directed As You Like It, and will be joined by Mark Benton and Patsy Ferran. It runs at the NT’s Olivier Theatre from October 26 to March 5, with a press night on November 3.
The Shakespeare comedy will also star Rosa Leon Annor, Philip Arditti, Paul Chahidi and Jonathan Dryden Taylor, with Patrick Godfrey, Gemma Lawrence, Ken Nwosu, Ekow Quartey and Alan Williams completing the cast.
Elsewhere, Louise Brealey will join the previously announced Anne-Marie Duff in DH Lawrence’s Husbands and Sons, which will run in the Dorfman Theatre from October 19 until January 19. A press night will be held on October 27.
The play, which has been adapted by the theatre’s deputy artistic director Ben Power, will also star Joe Armstrong, Matthew Barker, John Biggins and Cassie Bradley.
Susan Brown, Julia Ford and Johnny Gibbon have also been cast in the production, alongside Tala Gouveia, Lloyd Hutchinson, Philip McGinley, Martin Marquez, Katherine Pearce, Josie Walker and Sue Wallace.
Later in the season, Charles Edwards will lead the cast of Waste, which runs in the Lyttelton Theatre from November 3 to January 16, with a press night on November 10.
Directed by Roger Michell, the revival of Harley Granville Barker’s play will also star William Chubb, with further casting to be announced.
Outside of casting, former Guardian editor Alan Rusbridger and NT development council chair Elizabeth Offord have both joined the theatre’s board.
