Noma Dumezweni – who recently replaced Kim Cattrall in Linda at the Royal Court – has been cast as Hermione in the new Harry Potter play.

She joins Jamie Parker as Harry and Paul Thornley as Ron. Parker is currently playing Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls in the West End, while Thornley originated the role of Dodge in London Road at the National Theatre.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child begins previews at the Palace Theatre on June 7, and opens on July 30. It is currently booking until May 27, 2017.

Written by Jack Thorne and directed by John Tiffany, the play is produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Colin Callender’s Playground Entertainment and Harry Potter Theatrical Productions.
