Nina Sosanya and Olivia Vinall join cast of Chekhov trilogy at Chichester
Nina Sosanya and Olivia Vinall have joined the cast of Young Chekhov: The Birth of a Genius, a trilogy of the playwright’s early works at Chichester Festival Theatre.
Sosanya and Vinall form part of a 23-strong ensemble that will play 50 parts over the three plays, which will be Platonov, Ivanov and The Seagull.
Other cast members include Lucy Briers, Pip Carter, Peter Egan and Brian Pettifer, who join the previously announced Anna Chancellor, James McArdle and Samuel West.
Directed by Jonathan Kent, the three plays are new versions of Chekhov’s works by David Hare and will run at CFT from September 28 to November 14, with press performances on October 17.
The productions will also feature Emma Amos, Nebli Basani, Jonathan Coy, Mark Donald, Col Farrell, Joshua James, Beverley Klein, Des McAleer, Mark Penfold, Sarah Twomey, David Verrey and Jade Williams.
Design for the show will be by Tom Pye, with costumes by Emma Ryott, lighting by Mark Henderson and sound by Paul Groothuis. Music will be by Jonathan Dove.
