Lyric Hammersmith appoints Sian Alexander as executive director
Arts consultant Sian Alexander is to join the Lyric Hammersmith as executive director.
She replaces Jessica Hepburn, who is leaving the Lyric after a decade to focus on her writing career.
Alexander takes up the role from October 5. For the past five years she has worked as a management consultant for venues, including Southampton’s Nuffield and the Tricycle Theatre in London.
From 2012 to 2014, she was executive director for the Bush Theatre, and prior to that was associate director of green arts charity Julie’s Bicycle. Alexander was also head of theatre in London for Arts Council England for 10 years until 2010.
At the Lyric Hammersmith, she will work alongside artistic director Sean Holmes.
Alexander said: “It is an honour to lead the theatre alongside Sean Holmes and to work together to realise the fantastic potential of the Lyric’s new space for artists, audiences and young people.”
The west London venue recently reopened after a multi-million pound redevelopment.
