Ian McKellen, Juliet Stevenson, Stanley Tucci and Andrew Scott will take part in the Almeida Theatre’s reading of The Odyssey.

The event will be streamed live from four locations on November 12, and others taking part include Douglas Henshall, Ian Hart, Jenna Russell, Toby Jones, Tom Bateman and Simon Russell Beale.

Homer’s The Odyssey will be performed from 8.30am, beginning at the Almeida, and continuing at 11am from the Tower Pier, with a further reading at 3pm at the Islington Town Hall. It concludes at a secret location at 5pm.

The Odyssey, directed by Rupert Goold and Robert Icke, follows a reading of The Iliad earlier this year and concludes the Almeida’s season dedicated to Greek theatre.

It will be streamed live from almeida.co.uk/odyssey.

Other performers involved include Bertie Carvel, Janet Suzman and Lia Williams.
