Hampstead Theatre to live-stream Tiger Country free
Hampstead Theatre is to live broadcast a performance of its current show Tiger Country for free this weekend.
The play, which features a cast led by Indira Varma, will be aired live on Hampstead Theatre’s website on January 17, as well as on the Telegraph’s website. Following the live broadcast a recording will be available to watch on both sites for 72 hours.
The is the fourth play the theatre has streamed on the internet, following broadcasts of Wonderland and Drawing the Line last year and #Aiww: The Arrest Of Ai Weiwei in 2013.
Hampstead Theatre’s artistic director Edward Hall said the project was “central to our belief that Hampstead Theatre productions should be accessible to people all over the UK and the rest of the world”.
He continued: “Hampstead’s previous free streams have attracted over 50,000 views in 86 countries, demonstrating that with the right sponsorship and media partnerships it is possible to bring the best of British theatre to a truly global audience.”
