The Core at Corby Cube hires Nick Walker as director
Arts venue the Core at Corby Cube has named Nick Walker as its new director.
He replaces Chris Sudworth in the role, who left the venue to become executive director at the Old Rep Theatre in Birmingham.
Walker was previously co-artistic director of Coventry-based theatre company Talking Birds, and has worked with companies including NoFit State, China Plate and Insomniac.
The Core’s chief executive Martin Sutherland described Walker as “extremely well respected as a writer, director and producer both nationally and particularly here in the Midlands”.
He added: “We are thrilled that he will be bringing his experience and vision to the Core, and we are all looking forward to welcoming Nick to Corby very soon.”
Reacting to his appointment, Walker said: “The Core at Corby embarked on a very exciting creative journey five years ago, and it’s a great thrill to get the chance to join it now when its engine is really nicely warmed up. I’m very much looking forward to joining the team, and to creating some great stories for the people of Corby and beyond.”
