Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to tour the UK
Musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is to tour the UK from December.
The production opens at the West Yorkshire Playhouse on December 2, where it will play for nine weeks. Its press night will be December 10.
It will then begin a tour of the UK and Ireland, beginning at the Mayflower Theatre on February 10, 2016.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang has music and lyrics by Richard M Sherman and Robert B Sherman.
It will be directed by WYP artistic director James Brining, with choreography by Stephen Mear. The show’s set design is by Simon Higlett.
Brining described the show as “iconic show” and added that directing it would be a “great opportunity”.
It is produced by WYP and Music and Lyrics. The musical is presented with the permission of Josef Weinberger on behalf of Music Theatre International, which recently announced an expansion into Europe.
