Artsdepot and Matthews Yard among cultural organisations tipped for freshly minted business awards
North London venue Artsdepot and Matthews Yard in Croydon have been nominated for the best cultural venue prize at the inaugural Dot London Small Business Awards.
The awards aim to celebrate small independent businesses in London.
In the best cultural venue category, Artsdepot and Matthews Yard are nominated against the Cockpit in Marylebone, classical music venue St John’s Smith Square and the Arebyte Gallery in Hackney.
The winner will receive £1,000 and a Dot London domain name for a year.
Head judge for the awards Dragons’ Den star Sarah Willingham.
Willingham said: “The ingenuity of these London-based small businesses, their drive and ambition to succeed, has been inspirational.”
The winners of the awards will be chosen by a public vote, which closes on January 8, 2016.
There are 12 categories in total, and the awards ceremony will be held on January 21.
