Robert Webb cast in West End Jeeves and Wooster show
Robert Webb is to join the cast of Jeeves and Wooster show Perfect Nonsense in the West End from the spring.
Webb, who is best known for his appearance in Channel 4’s Peep Show, will play Bertie Wooster, replacing Stephen Mangan.
Mark Heap, whose credits include Channel 4’s Green Wing, will also join the production – as Jeeves – taking over from Matthew Macfadyen. The new pairing will begin from April 7.
Perfect Nonsense is written by Robert and David Goodale and is based on PG Wodehouse’s characters. It is directed by Sean Foley.
The show is running at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London, where it opened in the autumn and is booking until September 20.
It is produced in the West End by Mark Goucher and Mark Rubinstein.
