Adapted from Paul and Henrietta Stickland’s book, the show will feature new songs written specially for the production and puppets based on the book’s original designs by Paul Stickland.
The production will reunite Birmingham Stage Company with Wood, who also directs. The theatre company and Wood previously worked together on Tom’s Midnight Garden and Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine.
Wood said: “Children love dinosaurs. They particularly love the dinosaurs in the Dinosaur Roar! books. I am really looking forward to bringing these creatures from page to stage and triggering the children’s imaginations even further by letting them see the dinosaurs come alive in an exciting theatre experience.”
