Gary Lucy leads cast of Full Monty tour
Former EastEnders actor Gary Lucy is to lead the cast of the touring production of The Full Monty.
Lucy, whose other credits include Footballers’ Wives, will be joined by Andrew Dunn, Louise Emerick, Rupert Hill, Martin Miller and Bobby Schofield in the production, which opens at the Manchester Opera House on September 15.
It will tour for 32 weeks to venues including the Liverpool Empire, the Milton Keynes Theatre, Sunderland Empire and the Lyceum in Sheffield, where it will end on May 23, 2015.
The play is written by Simon Beaufoy and originally opened at Sheffield Theatres last year, when it was directed by Daniel Evans. The show transferred to London but closed early due to poor ticket sales.
The tour will be directed by Roger Haines, who previously directed the UK tour of Calendar Girls.
It has design by Robert Jones, choreography by Ian West, lighting by Tim Lutkin and sound by Ben and Max Ringham. It has been cast by Sarah Bird and is produced by David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers.
