Ayub Khan Din’s East is East, which begins previews in the West End this week, will embark on a three-week UK tour following its time in London, where it is running at Trafalgar Studios as part of Jamie Lloyd’s Trafalgar Transformed season.

The production, which stars Khan Din and Jane Horrocks, will begin its tour at the New Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham on January 14 to 17, 2015, before visiting Richmond Theatre and Manchester Opera House.

It runs at Richmond Theatre from January 19 to 24 and at Manchester Opera House from January 26 to 31

Lloyd, artistic director of Trafalgar Transformed, said: “Following the success of the tour of The Pride, I am excited that another production from the season, East Is East, can reach many more new audiences within the UK. It is a timely and hilarious play, and it is great that the original cast will be playing in these three venues early in 2015.”

The production is directed by Sam Yates and has design by Tom Scutt, lighting by Richard Howell and sound and music by Alex Baranowski.

The cast includes Amit Shah, Ashley Kumar, Darren Kuppan, Nathan Clarke, Taj Atwal, Michael Karim, Sally Bankes, Rani Moorthy and Hassani Shapi.

It is produced by Jamie Lloyd Productions, a partnership between Lloyd and Ambassador Theatre Group.
