Daniel Evans to join board at Northern Ballet
Artistic director of Sheffield Theatres Daniel Evans has been appointed to join Northern Ballet’s board of directors.
Evans joins Leeds and Partners’ chief executive Lurene Joseph as new board members of the Leeds-based organisation, which celebrates its 45th anniversary next year.
Olivier award-winning actor Evans has been artistic director of Sheffield Theatres since 2009, during which time the organisation has won regional theatre of the year at The Stage Awards twice and is its current holder.
Evans said: “I am truly honoured to be joining the board of Northern Ballet at this exciting time. I look forward to supporting and promoting the company’s work in Yorkshire, nationally and internationally.”
Evans and Joseph will replace Veronica Wadley, chair of Arts Council London, who has stepped down from the board after five years.
