Charlotte Wakefield is to joint the cast of new musical Picture Perfect.

Wakefield replaces the previously announced Lucie Jones in the show, which plays at the St James Theatre on May 31 and June 1.

She joins the previously announced Helen Hobson, who appeared with Wakefield in The Sound of Music at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre.

Picture Perfect – A New Musical is described as a contemporary song-cycle musical that “explores love and relationships”.

It features the songs of composer Scott Evan Davis and has been conceived by Simon Greiff, who also directs.

As well as Wakefield and Hobson, the cast includes Jerome Pradon and Joel Harper-Jackson.

Jones left the production because of a “scheduling clash”, producer United Theatrical said.

It added: “We are really sorry to lose Lucie, who has recently been cast in a fantastic upcoming project. It was important to us not stand in the way of such a career changing project and sincerely wish her the very best. Looking forward we are delighted to welcome Charlotte to the Picture Perfect family.”
