Talawa Theatre Company will revive artistic director Michael Buffong’s 2012 National Theatre production of Moon on a Rainbow Shawl as part of its new 2013/2014 season.
The play, which is written by Errol John, will tour the UK from February 3 to April 5, 2014.
It will begin its tour at the New Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich before visiting other venues yet to be confirmed in Leeds, Birmingham, Malvern, Oxford, Cambridge, Richmond, Bath and Nottingham.
Elsewhere in the new season, Don Warrington will appear alongside Dona Croll in Arthur Miller’s All My Sons.
The show, which is a co-production with Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre, will run at the venue from September 25 to October 26 and will be directed by Buffong.
Director Mojisola Adebayo will lead this year’s programme for supporting new theatre makers, TYPT:13, from August 15 to 17. This will culminate in a piece about gender and sexuality, presented at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama’s Embassy Theatre.
Meanwhile, the company will also present its Talawa Firsts scheme, which includes workshops led by upcoming directors for emerging writers, from June 3 to 21.
