Shameless actor Threlfall to play detective in BBC drama
David Threlfall is to play a detective in BBC1’s new drama What Remains, which will mark the actor’s first role since Shameless.
Threlfall has been in Shameless on Channel 4 as Frank Gallagher since 2004, but the series ends this year.
He will appear in What Remains, written by Tony Basgallop, alongside Russell Tovey, Stephen Mackintosh, David Bamber, Victoria Hamilton, Indira Varma and Claudie Blakely.
The four-part drama is described by the BBC as a “thrilling whodunit” that will be directed by Coky Giedroyc.
It is being made by the BBC’s drama department and produced by Hilary Salmon, who said: “Tony is one of the stand-out British dramatists currently writing for television and we are thrilled to be making his intriguing new murder mystery.”
