Menier to stage transfer of US comedy The Lyons
London’s Menier Chocolate Factory is to host the European premiere of US play The Lyons, which ran on Broadway in 2012.
The dark comedy, written by Nicky Silver, will run at the Southwark venue from September 19 to November 16. The show first ran off-Broadway in 2011 before transferring to Broadway in 2012. It was nominated for the Drama League Award for distinguished production of a play and the Outer Critics Circle Award for outstanding new Broadway play.
The Menier production will be directed by Mark Brokaw, who also directed the show both on and off Broadway. It will be designed by Jonathan Fensom, with lighting design by Jason Taylor and sound design by Gregory Clarke.
Casting has yet to be announced.
