Landor to host new musical inspired by BBC’s Bake Off series
A musical inspired by BBC2 series The Great British Bake Off will have its premiere at the Landor Theatre in south London next month.
The theatre is also to host a revival of Polly Stenham’s play, That Face.
Musical The Bakewell Bake Off will run from October 8 to 26, with press night on October 10.
It is being directed by Julian Woolford, who is head of postgraduate musical theatre at Guildford School of Acting. The show itself began as a project by students at GSA, who wanted to write a musical based on the BBC series.
Its cast includes recent GSA graduates Cerys Alley, Will Ferris and Victoria Humphreys.
The musical is written by the “Baking Committee” and has choreography by Kayleigh Thadani and Nicole Tiffany Rushing. The musical director is Kevin Michael Cripps.
It is produced by the Baking Committee.
Stenham’s That Face will run from November 12 to December 1. Press night is November 14.
It will be directed by Tara Robinson, with set and costume design by Rachel Stone and lighting by Derek Anderson.
That Face is produced by David Adkin.
The play originally ran at the Royal Court Theatre, before transferring to the West End.
