BBC3 orders comedy starring stand up Nick Helm
BBC3 has commissioned a comedy starring stand up comic and singer Nick Helm called Uncle.
It is being made by Baby Cow, the production company behind comedies such as Gavin and Stacey and Nighty Night, and will also star Daisy Haggard.
The series is written and directed by Oliver Refson and is described as a comedy about the world’s “most irresponsible uncle”.
BBC3 has also commissioned a four-part series called People Just Do Nothing, which is a mockumentary about a pirate radio station.
This started life as a pilot that was shown online last year and is being made by Roughcut Television.
Meanwhile, BBC3 has also commissioned a third series of comedy Pramface, a new series of Him and Her – which will be the last – and eight new pilots, which will be shown on the iPlayer.
These include Bamboo, written by Harry and Jack Williams, and Kerry, a sketch show starring Kerry Howard.
