Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Stephen Ward to open at Aldwych Theatre in December
Stephen Ward, the new musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber, will open at the Aldwych Theatre in December.
The show, which has a book and lyrics by Christopher Hampton and Don Black, will be directed by Richard Eyre and will begin previews on December 3. Press night is on December 19 and the musical is currently booking until March 1, 2014.
Stephen Mear will choreograph the production, which will have lighting by Peter Mumford, designs by Rob Howell and sound by Paul Groothuis. It is produced by Robert Fox Limited and the Really Useful Group.
Casting has yet to be announced.
Stephen Ward is set in the 1963 and based on the Profumo Affair, the political scandal that involved then minister for war, John Profumo, and Christine Keeler, with whom he had an affair.
