Adam MacDonald appointed Sky1 director
Adam MacDonald, a former controller of daytime programming at both ITV and Channel 4, has been appointed as the new director of Sky1.
He replaces Stuart Murphy, who has been handed an expanded role looking after all of Sky entertainment channels, including Sky Atlantic and Sky Arts.
MacDonald’s appointment as director of Sky1 comes after Liam Keelan, who had previously accepted the role, opted to take a post at BBC Worldwide instead.
He joins Sky1 from A+E Networks UK, where he is vice president of programming.
Murphy said: “I am delighted that Adam has accepted the role of director of Sky1. He’s an ideal appointment.”
MacDonald will take up the post later this year.
