Sheffield Theatres’ Full Monty to tour UK
Sheffield Theatres’ production of The Full Monty will tour the UK following its initial run next February.
The stage play of the film, directed by Daniel Evans, will star Kenny Doughty, Craig Gazey, Simon Rouse, Keiran O’Brien, Roger Morlidge and Sidney Cole.
Simon Beaufoy, the writer of the film, has adapted his screenplay for the stage. It marks Beaufoy’s first work for the theatre.
The Full Monty will open at the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield on February 18, following previews from February 2. The production will then tour to Birmingham, Bristol, Canterbury, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, Salford, Southampton, Southend and Leeds
The production will feature songs from the film, including numbers by Donna Summer, Rod Stewart, Hot Chocolate and Tom Jones.
Design is by Robert Jones and choreography is by Steven Hoggett. Sound and music is by Ben and Max Ringham.
This Sheffield Theatres production is presented by David Pugh and Dafydd Rogers.
The Full Monty has previously appeared on stage as a musical, written by Terrence McNally with a score by David Yazbek. It opened in the West End in 2002.
