New Adventures Choreographer Award shortlist announced
Matthew Bourne’s company New Adventures has announced the shortlist for its inaugural choreographer award.
The New Adventures Choreographer Award was set up to mark Bourne’s 50th birthday last year by his friends and colleagues. The winner will be granted more than £15,000 to work on their choreographic skills over the course of a year and be mentored by Bourne and other New Adventures associate artists to develop a programme of work with the company. A showcase of the new artist’s work will be presented at the end of the 12 months.
The shortlist is: James Cousins, Tom Jackson-Greaves, Daniel Hay-Gordon, Soledad De La Hoz, Kristen McNally, Christopher Marney, Drew McOnie, Ernst Meisner, Jelka Milic, Ash Mukherjee, Rachael Nanyonjo, Sophie Robinson, Shane Shambhu, Neil Westmoreland and James Wilton.
The judging panel includes Bourne, theatre designer Lex Brotherston and choreographer Aletta Collins. The winner will be announced in July.
