Lesley Garrett to return to The Sound of Music
Lesley Garrett is to reprise her role in The Sound of Music when the production runs at the Wimbledon New Theatre this autumn.
Garrett will play Mother Abbess, the role she played at the London Palladium when the show first opened in 2006. She will join Connie Fisher as Maria, who won the BBC talent search How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? and also appeared in the 2006 West End run.
The Sound of Music is directed by Jeremy Sams and will run at the New Wimbledon Theatre from October 11 to 22. Garrett will not appear on October 17 and Fisher will not appear on October 12, 13 or either the matinee or the evening performance on October 20.
