Caroline O’Connor to perform at Leicester Curve
Caroline O’Connor is to star in Gypsy at Leicester Curve’s 2011/12 season.
Gypsy will be directed by Curve artistic director Paul Kerryson and will run from March 13 to April 14, 2012, with press night on March 15, 2012. . Commenting on the season, which also features a revival of 42nd Street as the venue’s Christmas production, Kerryson said that the season continued “our tradition of musical theatre”.
Kerryson will also direct 42nd Street, which will run from December 1 to January 14, 2012, with press night on December 6.
The season launches with the world premiere of Desh, a new piece by choreographer Akram Khan. Desh will run from September 12 and the production will embark on a world tour following its run in Leicester.
Desh will be followed by Bang Bang Bang, a new play by Stella Feehily that will be directed by Max Stafford-Clark and which will explore the world of charities and NGOs.
One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest directed by Michael Buffong and Sam Shepard’s Buried Child also form part of the season.
