Cumming to bring one-man ‘vaudeville’ show to the UK

by -

Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor Alan Cumming is bringing his one-man show I Bought a Blue Car Today to the West End’s Vaudeville Theatre this September. Cumming, who has already taken the show to the Lincoln Center in New York and the Sydney Opera House, will perform in London for eight performances only from September 1-6. The show features Cumming performing musical numbers by Frank Sinatra, Charles Aznavour, Cole Porter, ABBA and Cyndi Lauper, among others.

“I am so excited to be bringing my show to London and especially to the Vaudeville Theatre, because I think the show itself is a bit vaudeville – it’s just me, my band, some funny stories and some great songs,” said the actor, who has also just been cast to appear in the forthcoming Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. “But the connection I feel with an audience when performing it is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and I can’t wait to share that with London.”
