Brushstroke Make-Up and Hair training equips students with highly sought-after skills and the confidence to work as versatile artists across TV, film, stage and fashion. Our purpose-built facilities are located within the dynamic film complex of Shepperton Studios. We also have premises at Pinewood Studios.
We offer qualification-led courses, such as BTEC and ITEC diplomas, as well as shorter courses concentrating upon skills and techniques for various areas of the industry.
Essentially, we teach everything a make-up artist needs to succeed in today's world of entertainment - and we've been doing so for nearly 30 years. Our students can switch with confidence and speed between different looks (including sfx) and authentic period make-up, as well as demonstrate solid hair and barbering skills.
Brushstroke students receive more hours of practical, hands-on teaching than any university course can offer. The standard of teaching is the highest available - delivered by tutors who are themselves professional make-up and hair artists working in the industry and, therefore, the most suitably qualified in their specialist subjects. Both our students and tutors work on some of the biggest films in the world (Harry Potter, Beauty And The Beast, Peterloo) and the most popular TV programmes (Eastenders, Call The Midwife, The Informer, Mum).
We have an extremely high success rate in getting our students work experience and contracted job placements - both during and after their study time with us. The industry is competitive and expectations are high but Brushstroke training gives the capable and hard-working student a real head start
