The ABTT is the independent membership organisation setting and upholding standards in technical excellence, safety and compliance for theatre and live performance. It seeks to advance expertise and work with its membership to develop and promote best practice in all relevant crafts and disciplines. It promotes excellence in the design of buildings for performance and in production technology. It works with government and the enforcement agencies to ensure an enlightened and flexible approach to legal compliance.
ACT helps the children of professional actors, from birth to age 21, when in crisis or facing hardship. We offer advice and support, and give grants for extra-curricular activities, uniform and clothing, trips and travel, special needs costs, health-related issues, childcare, and more. (But ACT is unable to fund private school fees.) We can help as a one-off, or for many years.
