The Stage/Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts scholarship winners 2017

Winners Ben Perkins, Eva-Marie Saffrey, Kalila Khan and Ellie Rose Eames

Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts’ dedication to The Stage Scholarships scheme has been demonstrated this year by it giving four awards, worth more than £200,000 in total.

Eleven-year-old Kalila Khan, from Hainault in Essex, and Ellie Rose Eames, also 11, from Rochester in Kent, have received 100% awards (each worth £64,875).

In addition, Eva-Marie Saffrey (10, from East London) has won a 75% scholarship (worth £48,656), while 12-year-old Ben Perkins, from Tolworth in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey, has also received a 75% award (worth £38,925).

Kalila said: “I feel so privileged to have this amazing opportunity and I can’t thank The Stage and Italia Conti enough. Receiving this scholarship brings me one step closer to reaching my dreams and I am so excited to experience everything Italia Conti has to offer.”

Ellie Rose said: “When I received the news that I had been awarded The Stage Scholarship, I cried. Attending Italia Conti is a dream come true for me, I’m so excited and cannot wait to start school in September. I am very lucky to have been given such an amazing opportunity.”

Eva-Marie said: “It feels like all my dreams are coming true at once. Winning a scholarship with Italia Conti is all I ever wanted. I’m the happiest little girl alive and I’m looking forward to my new school. I would like to offer Italia Conti a big thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity.”

Ben said: “I couldn’t believe it when I read the letter to say I had got a scholarship to Italia Conti. I watched School for Stars a lot when I was little. I have always wanted to go to this school and now I am. I love acting, singing and dancing and am very happy and grateful to The Stage and Italia Conti for this amazing opportunity. I can’t wait to start and do what I love every day.”
