Win a dinner for two at the J Sheekey Oyster Bar

Picture: Win a dinner for two at the J Sheekey Oyster Bar

J Sheekey's illustrious 100-year heritage was further enhanced by the opening in 2008 of the Oyster Bar, sited next door and a more informal extension of this great London institution.

Designed by Martin Brudnizki, it is set around a horseshoe-shaped central dining bar that seats 30 and, echoing the decor of the parent restaurant, its wood-panelled walls are lined with Alison Jackson's photographs of 21st-century theatrical luminaries from John Hurt and Eileen Atkins to Orlando Bloom and Rosamund Pike.

Naturally, the quality of the seafood is outstanding too -- not just the finest oysters from West Mersea, Cornwall, Northern Ireland and south-west France, but everything from Shetland mussels and Dublin Bay prawns to the famous J Sheekey fish pie, Brown and Forrest smoked salmon and crab.

These are enjoyed with an excellent list of Champagnes and sparkling wines by a theatrical and foodie clientele. For your chance to win, answer the question below.

The Oyster Bar is open from 12 noon-12 midnight from Monday to Saturday and to 11pm on Sunday. Reservations are not necessary. 33-34 St Martin's Court, London WC2N 4AL, www.jsheekeyoysterbar.co.uk.
