For the past 16 years Eric Potts has been at the forefront of the pantomime world and he is an absolute delight to watch, supported by a strong cast which includes a star name from the small screen who I predict will now feature on every producer’s ideal cast lists.

Television stars draw in the crowds but they are not always experienced in the world of pantomime. Stephen Mullern as Idle Jack is the exception, giving a superb performance in the role of playing to and involving the audience. A familiar face on ITV’s This Morning, Britain’s Got More Talent and Catchphrase, he is outstanding.

So too is another Britain’s Got Talent star, Pudsey the dog, with owner Ashleigh Butler, partnering Michael Pickering in the title role of Dick Whittington. Praise for Kayleigh Wilson as Tommy the Cat, Dave Lynn as King Rat and Ben Goffe as the ships’ Captain. Great choreography, plus a spectacular 3D underwater film, glasses provided. Don’t miss it.
