The customary opening with Shona White as Fairy Flora is followed by a hilarious double act that sets the scene for this pantomime. Donovan Christian Cary, as the larger than life Clarissa the Cook, partnered by Robert Hopkins as her son Muddles, have the young audience showing their deafening appreciation, especially in the later slapstick cookery lesson.

Joanna Fussey as the Wicked Queen has to be the most glamorous baddie ever to grace a pantomime - even the boos were muted at her first appearance, mixed in with ‘oohs’ from some of the dads in the audience. Alex Minns as the voice of the Magic Mirror could well have been forgiven for naming her the fairest of them all.
Louise Stanton, a demure Snow White, has a good voice, as does her Prince, played by Kieran Brown, blending well in their duet You Are Not Alone. The dance routines in the forest and the Dwarfs, played by children wearing marvellous masks, are excellent and there is the usual ‘sitting on the bench’ routine with the prowling ghost, which brings one of the biggest laughs as Clarissa the Cook falls off, losing her wig in the process.
