Sleeping Beauty

A classic and delightful fairy tale, well adapted by producer David Lee into a panto format without losing the magical content of the storyline.

The Crystal Fairy, beautifully portrayed by the delightful Sophie Adams, deserves special mention for being a last-minute replacement, while Laura Houston scores heavily as the lovely Princess Briar Rose. Carabosse, played by the excellent Verona Chand, is the Wicked Fairy, was but was unable to deliver her lines at times due to the cacophony of hate emanating from the young audience - a sure sign of success. The highly experienced Andrew Fettes as Queen Hilda drew gales of laughter with some fine comedy routines, well supported by Spikey Will Ladbroke-Hutt as Cuthbert, the Court Jester. Prince Gallant/Valiant (Stewart O’Reilly) was handsome and regal and King Humphrey (Lee Dahan) bumbled about as any fairy tale king is expected to do.

Finally, praise to the producers for introducing the Honey Monster to the cast. A huge hit with the kids. Without doubt, a delightful sure-fire winner, not to be missed.
