New discoveries are like diamonds and this season a glittering young performer is beguiling audiences at Babbacombe.
Singer Emily Kindon - Stagecoach-trained and winner of the 2008 Torbay’s Got Talent competition - closed the first half with a captivating voice and a conviction way beyond her 13 years. Here is a young performer with the potential for an impressive future.
Leading the laughs is Babbacombe favourite, Devon-born comedian Tank Sherman.
Another familiar face is magician Peter Baffles, whose expression wavers between bemusement and impish satisfaction when he concludes a trick.
This is Baffles at his best - the droll delivery an engaging foil for some very sophisticated magic.
His amazing rope trick held the audience in his spell, as did picking a card from a virtual card pack and levitating a seemingly weightless table.
Bubbly Wayne Champagne is a performer with a fine voice and high-voltage energy. At ease with both comedy and singing, he is also a fine impressionist. His take on Neil Diamond belting out America was a fine showcase for his musical mimicry.
Soprano Donna-Marie, another Babbacombe familiar, having appeared in four seasonal shows, has a voice that lifts a song with her soaring vocal tones.
The energetic eight-strong Danze Fantasy work through some slick up-tempo routines, created by choreographer Georgia Lee.
Although geared to the festive season, the show keeps a good balance through out - opening with a Christmas medley and ending with the full company delivering their exuberant version of Mamma Mia!.
Production information can change over the run of the show.
