Mike Holoway, Maureen Nolan and Rachael Holoway sing non-stop, seam-free, popular hits from famous shows across the last 30 years. Phantom, Les Mis, Joseph, Blood Brothers, Grease, Mamma Mia, Godspell and others have their main melodies aired again. The three performers are strong, confident and thoroughly at ease, although sometimes look lonely on the large stage.
Mike Holoway also has an inventive and stunning drum spot, playing for the ABBA segment.
There are times when so many chained together songs are in danger of becoming wearisome but a comedian is available at all the change of pace opportunities. Mike Newman Jnr is a good family standup comic and singer who makes funny walks, voices and mannerisms. Most of his jokes are on the internet and in the 19th hole but not everyone knows that and he makes you laugh anyway. While Holoway noisily moves a wardrobe in the wings, Newman has a crazy time obeying his instructions whilst singing My Way and finishing up laid out on the floor on his back.
Two singing musicians - Sean Tomkins and Sam Vidler - play keyboards onstage at a cracking pace and with complete reliability. Rob Anderson alternates and the MD is John Summerton.
Production information can change over the run of the show.
