Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

An opening night visit presented a show that has huge promise once it’s properly bedded down. Even so, on this visit, Lorreta Legge’s show was lively, had plenty of action, a good measure of audience participation and a well balanced musical selection.

Quite remarkably the stars of this evening were the seven dwarfs provided by children from Chaplins Stage School. The youngsters were unbelievable in the masks of their characters, you quite forgot there were young people inside.

Becky Maclean was a delightful Snow White with a superb singing voice equally matched by Duncan Heather as the Prince with Letitia Dean a suitably wicked Queen Esmeralda.

Jagger and Woody were a rather unsuccessful queen’s henchmen and Ken Joy as Dame Donut and Bobby Dazzler as Muddles will benefit from a few more run-throughs.

Nikki Christian’s Fairy Kindheart was warm but brief in her contributions and there seemed little reason at all for the Crazy Frog.
