Celebrating 20 years, Zippos Circus takes to the road on an All You Need Is Love tour with many of the acts being set to Beatles’ tracks.
Families play a key part in and out of the ring with the spectacularly talented five-strong Moroccan Messoudi Troupe displaying ensemble juggling, hand-to-hand, acro-balancing, hand-balancing and acrobatics to great effect.
Tom Roberts returns with another beautiful new routine, joined by his self-assured six-year-old daughter Kristina. He contrasts three pale Arab stallions and three tiny Falabella horses, putting them through their paces in his customary relaxed and skilful manner.
Zippo’s tradition of wonderful clowns continues. Bippo, who is back with some great new routines, is joined by US star Renaldo - making his UK debut - and Academy of Circus Arts graduate Little Lou, both of whom entice audience members to join in comedy spots involving a Spanish-themed film and The Village People respectively.
Aerial thrills come from Ena on silks and the Duo Georgetta on a high trapeze, who demonstrate strength, suppleness and style. On cloudswing, Zula’s routine includes a series of 360-degree rotations. Down below, leather-clad Germaine Delbosq has an unusual foot-juggling number, riding in on a motorbike and using it as a platform on which to perform with a variety of props.
To everyone’s delight, the inimitable ringmaster Norman Barrett re-introduces his colourful little team of budgies, who win over a new generation of fans with a range of clever tricks.
Zippos orchestra and showgirls complete the line-up of this enjoyable show, which provides superb entertainment for everyone.
