Direct from her whistlestop world tour/global peace mission, Tina C drops into quaint old London town to spread a little happiness and good cheer while promoting her latest album, Complete and Utter Country. Oosing country and desperately championing the white trash cause, Tina vows that if you own any denim then deep down, regardless of colour, you are profoundly white trash.
The delightful thing to witness about Green’s performance is its style. For all the white trash pretensions, Green never once loses control of his character or settles for compromise in the overall design and material in the show. Costumes are flawlessly designed and executed by Jack Britton and Sarah Stammier, hair and make-up are immaculate and the material sharp, humorous and well-polished.
Her best loved songs such as I’m Just Roadkill On The Freeway of Your Love are frequently plugged throughout the show to justified and hysterical laughter from the audience but it is Green’s delivery that makes any of these songs worth listening to rather than any genius of music or lyric. How fresh this material actually is I cannot answer but the concept and delivery certainly have mileage to allow Tina C to become a bit of a legend way outside her hometown of Open Throat Holler, Tennessee.
Production information can change over the run of the show.
