Excitingly, this first Circus Space Cabaret to have an extended run has the strongest line-up so far. It has everything - humour, glamour, skills and thrills and is compered by the genial Dave Chameleon, who has a few tricks of his own.
Diabolist Donald Grant opens. His routine with one then two diabolos is superb. Quick, fluent and complicated, he zips them around his body, flicks them this way and that, and adds an ironic flick of his kilt.
Bongo Bolero have a fabulously cheesy comedy adagio number. Standing on your partner’s head cannot be easy but they make all the balances look effortless and their facial expressions are pricless.
Germany’s Ilka Licht - a Circus Space graduate - brings a stylish theatricality to her club juggling routine. Ability and artistry combine, making this beautiful and clever.
Another graduate, Aaron Walker, gives a breathtaking and imaginative display on corde lisse. His dynamic moves, almost dancing, almost flying, set a standard for others to aim at.
It is pure pleasure watching the stunning Cirque de Demain silver medal winners Victor and Kati. Their comedy hand-to-hand number plays up their difference in stature and includes some unbelievable thrown somersaults and a ‘Statue of Liberty torch’ lift.
How everyone adores Chris Green’s brilliant incarnation as glitzy Nashville singer Tina C Wickedly smart and sassy, white trash never looked or sounded so gorgeous.
Aerialists Duo Vertigo give their usual professional and polished performance. Their casting and catching cradle act has real showmanship and precision. It gives this scintillating evening a glittering finale.
