Denise Van Outen is to star in a new one-woman show that she has co-written called Some Girl I Used To Know.
The production, which she has written with Terry Ronald, will open at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in January next year. It will then tour the UK until March, where it ends at the Orchard Theatre in Dartford.
It is described as a “play with music” and is about a woman reflecting on a former relationship. The show will feature songs from the 80s and 90s.
Some Girl I Used To Know has musical supervision by Steve Anderson, who was musical director of Rent: Remxed, in which Van Outen starred.
The show is directed by Michael Howcroft and designed by Morgan Large, with movement direction by Matthew Cole, lighting by Josh Carr and sound by David Gregory. The musical direction is by Garth Hall.
It is produced by Tristan Baker and Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment.
Van Outen previously starred in the one woman show Tell Me On a Sunday, by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Don Black.
